Paris Day 8

our last day in Paris was spent at Sacre Coer in Montmartre. The weather started off gorgeous and turned to patchy rain showers later in the morning. It was windy and cold, and we took a long respite inside the church after our long trek up the hill. The kids each lit a candle in honor of their great grandmother.

We had a nice coffee at the bottom of the hill and the kids picked out some Paris souvenirs in the local junk shops. Then we headed across town for an early dinner in our own neighborhood. It was a lovely walk.

Dinner was sushi! Yum! They even gave the kids a lollipop for dessert!

That evening we were faced with a daunting task: polishing off as many goodies as possible!

We had such an amazing time in Paris, it was hard to come home. The best part was being together every day! Je t’aime, Paris!

Paris Day 7

Another big day began with no particular plan. The kids were feeling tired, so Mom and Millie went out to see the world after breakfast while Brett and the kids rested and relaxed a bit.

First was shopping at Galleries Lafayette and then a walk to meet up with Brett and the kids at Jardin de Tuileries. Our travels took us through a street market…

… and down Boulevard Raspail (which happens to have everything, including the best coffee in the world: %Arabica.

As well as gorgeous food shops like this spot we grabbed lunch:

And then it was over the Seine to the park.

Unbelievably, Claire met up with her friend from the day before and they decided to become pen pals. So cute.

We walked up to the front of the Louvre and lounged by the fountains for a bit.

And then we were tired, so we took Mom and the kids back home to rest up.

Brett and Millie started adventure 2 after only a brief respite. Scooters, cheese, chocolates, cakes, St. Sulpice and dinner!

We scootered home just in time to take the kids out to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle and they loved it.

Paris Day 6

Day six was Eiffel Tower day! We started our morning with a cruise on the Seine.

It thought about raining, but only shared a few drops with our boat. We found a wonderful Vietnamese place for lunch and explored a really cool local shopping district (Rue Cler) where Mom and Millie bought chocolates and Brett gave the kids a ride on a scooter (they’re everywhere!)

Then it was time to meet our little group for the Eiffel Tower.

Omg, I forgot how exciting the elevator is!

…but totally worth it!

The babies had a donut at the top. The biggest donuts ever, in fact. And got a little silly….

And then we headed down and each kid got a souvenir as we headed home for the evening. Phew; it was an exciting day.
