Paris Day 7

Another big day began with no particular plan. The kids were feeling tired, so Mom and Millie went out to see the world after breakfast while Brett and the kids rested and relaxed a bit.

First was shopping at Galleries Lafayette and then a walk to meet up with Brett and the kids at Jardin de Tuileries. Our travels took us through a street market…

… and down Boulevard Raspail (which happens to have everything, including the best coffee in the world: %Arabica.

As well as gorgeous food shops like this spot we grabbed lunch:

And then it was over the Seine to the park.

Unbelievably, Claire met up with her friend from the day before and they decided to become pen pals. So cute.

We walked up to the front of the Louvre and lounged by the fountains for a bit.

And then we were tired, so we took Mom and the kids back home to rest up.

Brett and Millie started adventure 2 after only a brief respite. Scooters, cheese, chocolates, cakes, St. Sulpice and dinner!

We scootered home just in time to take the kids out to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle and they loved it.

Paris Day 6

Day six was Eiffel Tower day! We started our morning with a cruise on the Seine.

It thought about raining, but only shared a few drops with our boat. We found a wonderful Vietnamese place for lunch and explored a really cool local shopping district (Rue Cler) where Mom and Millie bought chocolates and Brett gave the kids a ride on a scooter (they’re everywhere!)

Then it was time to meet our little group for the Eiffel Tower.

Omg, I forgot how exciting the elevator is!

…but totally worth it!

The babies had a donut at the top. The biggest donuts ever, in fact. And got a little silly….

And then we headed down and each kid got a souvenir as we headed home for the evening. Phew; it was an exciting day.

Paris Day 4

We started the day heading out to San Chapelle, a gorgeous chapel on the left bank of the Seine. One amazing aspect of having a wheelchair with us is that we get to cut the lines everywhere. People have been so kind in helping us around!

You can see from Claire’s reaction, how astonishing it is. It wasn’t my first time and I was still stunned.

Afterward we wandered past poor Notre Dame and then had an ice cream to recuperate.

All tuckered out, we headed home and made some dinner for Mom and the kids, while Brett and Millie made plans for an amazing night out.

At the recommendation of a friend, we went to Ombré, for one of the best views in all of Paris. We walked to dinner along the river and caught the first lights of the evening on the Eiffel Tower.

The restaurant is actually on a rooftop, facing the tower, and has a panoramic view of the city, as well as a glass roof, so you can look up and see the tower sparkle every hour.

The food was lovely, dessert was divine, but it was the courses of wine that made us giggle all the way home.

Such a memorable night together. <3
